Hillary Aizenman has over 10 years’ experience representing individuals accused of criminal offenses. She is an experienced, fierce, and compassionate advocate and litigator, both in and out of the courtroom. Hillary has taken over 40 cases to jury trial, achieving acquittals in some of the most serious and complex cases, and has handled thousands of others.
Hillary graduated third in her class and as a member of the Order of the Coif at the University of Colorado Law School. She then served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Michael Bender on the Colorado Supreme Court.
Prior to entering private practice, Hillary was a Senior Deputy Public Defender in the Brighton regional office of the Colorado State Public Defender. During her six years as a public defender, Hillary defended clients accused of offenses ranging from misdemeanors and DUIs to more serious offenses such as sexual assault and first-degree murder. While with the Public Defender’s Office, Hillary had many successes securing acquittals or lesser charges at jury trials, litigated motions issues, and obtained favorable plea dispositions in countless cases.
Hillary joined the Polansky Law Firm in May 2019 as a Senior Associate Attorney and was made Partner in 2023. She represents clients in all stages of the criminal justice system, including: pre-filing of charges; pre-trial negotiation and litigation; jury trials; post-conviction litigation; appeals; victim representation; and probation revocations and modifications. Hillary also represents students at university conduct hearings.
Hillary is dedicated to achieving the best possible results for her clients, which she achieves through relentless and strategic litigation, preparation, and putting the government’s case through the crucible of the adversarial process. She takes a pragmatic approach and always provides honest and compassionate advice and counsel to her clients.
Hillary is a fifth generation Coloradoan. When she’s not working, Hillary enjoys spending time with her family and getting into the Colorado outdoors.
