Cayce Duncan is a First-year Associate with Polansky Law Firm but came to the Firm an experienced trial attorney from the Colorado State Public Defender.  She is a skilled trial attorney who works diligently to obtain the best outcomes for her clients.  During her time as a public defender, she tried dozens of cases to verdict, litigated complex legal issues, and negotiated favorable outcomes for her clients in even the toughest of cases. Prior to practicing in the Denver metro area, Cayce spent several years representing clients in El Paso county, a notoriously tough jurisdiction for criminal defendants. Cayce has handled cases ranging from DUIs, to sex assaults, to homicides, and everything in between. She also argued before the Colorado Supreme Court in the case of Walton v. People, a case she litigated from start to finish and ultimately won.

Cayce is a Louisiana native who came to Colorado in 2013 to attend law school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. There, she quickly jumped into the Colorado legal community by volunteering and interning throughout the Denver metro area. While at CU, Cayce interned in three public defenders offices, worked as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, and clerked for a private defense firm. She also volunteered for outreach programs, working with high school students through the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project and LYRIC (“Learn Your Rights In Colorado”). In 2015, she was awarded the Dan Barash Memorial Scholarship in recognition of her dedicated work in indigent defense.

Cayce’s practice is focused on zealous advocacy both in and out of the courtroom. She uses a client-centered approach to work towards the outcome that addresses her clients’ specific needs.”
