In April 2014, the Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole announced a new Clemency Iniative through the Department of Justice to the President of the United States whereby persons convicted of federal crimes can petition the President for relief under certain circumstances.  Our firm is qualified to prepare and file such a petition on behalf of clients.  Contact us today to find out if you or your loved one might qualify for this program and get released from prison early.  The person must have served at least 10 years of their prison sentence; have no history of violence prior to their imprisonment or during; be convicted of a non-violent felony; have no connection to a gang, cartel or organized crime; have no significant prior criminal history; and have demonstrated good conduct in prison.  The Petition process is complex and lengthy and having an attorney prepare and present the Petition and documents in support of such a request is advisable.
